Would you like to be able to photograph a wedding with more confidence and knowledge? Perhaps you’re considering becoming a professional wedding photographer. Or you’d like to be able to photograph weddings for friends and family.
I love photographing weddings (I made a decision not to do it full time because of family commitments) as there’s something very special about capturing the story of such a wonderful day for the couple and their friends and families. It feels like a privilege and I enjoy photographing those intimate moments that will be treasured and shared for many years.
But with that comes a huge amount of stress and pressure that can seem very daunting to a first time wedding photographer. I still feel a little nervous just before a wedding, even though I’ve photographed more than thirty, at home and abroad, in sunshine and in rain. Some have been small affairs, others very grand with 250 guests. I’ve been a ‘last minute’ wedding photographer when the one who was booked failed to show and I’ve coped with serious equipment failure.
I have a lot of experience to share that will help you to overcome your nerves and enjoy the experience and, most importantly, deliver photographs that the wedding couple will be delighted with.
On this wedding photography workshop we will cover the following:
- Planning, preparation and equipment.
- Posing and directing the couple* and groups.
- Working with the light and how to use a flashgun on the camera.
- Telling the Wedding Story: from getting ready to the first dance.
- Digital workflow.
- Presenting to the bride and groom.
- Album design.
We will be looked after wonderfully in the studio by Nic, with copious cups of coffee and tea and a delicious homemade lunch, to keep our brains firing on all cylinders.
10.00am – 4.00pm. 6 people max
Lunch and light refreshments included.
Venue: The Studio, Wincham, Cheshire.
*There will be a second workshop in the Summer with live models. Anyone who has attended the first workshop will be entitled to a discount off the second one.
