Phone photography

Loved Jane’s Love Your Lens phone workshop!
Jane is very friendly & welcoming – also an amazing photographer.
I never felt uncomfortable or that I couldn’t ask anything, and Jane’s resource guide is excellent. I feel more confident about editing as well as photographing things now.
Lovely coffees, teas & tempting snacks were provided too.
I learned loads and had fun – and you can’t say fairer than that!
Thanks Jane 🙂

Spring food photography

AMAZING food photography workshop, don’t even hesitate to get booked on. I guarantee you will love every minute and come away with serious knowledge and skill thanks to these two lovely ladies. I had a fantastic day and learnt an enormous amount, enough to create fantastic images in a matter of hours!  😉

One to one practical lesson

Had a fab afternoon with Jane in Chester getting to grips with street photography. We all started off feeling a bit self-conscious, but her friendly encouraging style soon got us into the flow. Her advice re settings and guidance in spotting a good image were really helpful. In addition, she encouraged us to shoot only in manual and black and white. I’d been experimenting with manual recently and realised on the day that I needed to take a different approach in some situations to adapting the exposure. Jane created a lovely supportive environment for us to ask questions and push our boundaries. Loved it and learnt lots. Thank you Jane! 🙏🏻 xx

Photography for teens

My teenage son recently attended Jane’s “Photography for Teens” course. He found it really informative…learning lots about how to use his camera to get the most out of it. He commented on how friendly Jane was too Highly recommended if you have a budding David Bailey out there

8 hour programme

Had a fantastic beginners photography lesson with Jane, she really did make the lesson fun, interesting and the information easy to absorb! After only 2 hours I’m already off auto mode and taking much better photographs, I can’t wait for my next lesson.

Get Off Auto

A thoroughly enjoyable and informative day spent on the Get Off Auto workshop with Jane. Some great new skills gained for using my camera to its maximum potential with confidence. Looking forward to putting them in to practice. Thank you Jane. Would definitely recommend your courses and no doubt I’ll be back to try a different course soon.

Get Off Auto

I attended the ‘get off auto’ course on Saturday. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole session. Jane really is a great tutor and pitched everything in the right tone and the right pace. I will be going to more of Jane’s courses and would recommend this course to anyone who has a good camera but just doesn’t know how to use it… like me. Thanks Jane. P.S. Lunch was lovely and the cheese scones to die for 🙂

Product photography lesson

I recently attended a product photography course with Jane and would highly recommend it. I’m a total novice and Jane did a great job of demystifying it all, so I came away with a better understanding, feeling so much more confident about my shots. I particularly liked the focus on natural light – after the course I found it easy (and very cheap) to set up my own mini studio which is giving me far better results than my borrowed lightbox. Oh, and the included “light lunch” prepared by Jane’s husband far exceeded my expectations, all home-cooked and very tasty 🙂

Food photography course

I learnt so much from Jane’s Food Photography for Beginners. Jane’s teaching style is very encouraging and the day was a great mix of technical know-how, food styling and hands on practise…  all set in the beautiful, spacious and photogenic backdrop of Nikki’s home. We even got to share the delicious pumpkin dahl for lunch before photographing it! Jane also provides a fantastic online workbook, with lots of visual examples, as part of the course, so I was able to look back over everything we had covered on the day. It was great to work with a group of lovely people and share ideas. I left feeling inspired and more confident, having started as an absolute beginner!

One to one lesson

Excellent teacher; provides the simple explanations without dumbing down, all questions thoroughly and thoughtfully answered, a mine of information and damn good company to boot – whats’s not to like?

One to one tuition

Thank you, Jane Burkinshaw! You’ve taken me from having an expensive bit of kit in my hands, not knowing who is controlling who, wary of going off auto and taking terrible shots, to knowing a lot more about my kit and to taking shots that I’m now pleased to admit that they are mine. You’re a real gem, Jane and I really thank you for your expertise and patience. I can highly recommend lessons/refreshers with Jane, for anyone who wishes to get to know how to take photos to be proud of.

Group Lesson in Chester

Recently spent an afternoon in Chester with Jane on a workshop. There were 3 of us all with different levels of experience. Jane established which area each of us would like to improve and learn. She’s incredibly patient and a fabulous teacher. It was my first time shooting in manual and the direction and instruction was invaluable. She has really increased my confidence. Jane’s lovely company and you feel very at ease. Thoroughly enjoyed it, at the same time improving my skills. Thanks Jane looking forward to the next one!
