Pancake Day in photographs

making pancakes

Pancake Day has fallen in the school holidays – yes! We’ve got time to do it properly, which means Abii indulging in a spot of baking, me in a bit of pancake photography and the boys (Nic, Sam, Ferb and Buster) in stuffing their faces!

Mixing the perfect batter was down to Nic, with no measuring involved, just a few years of experience (!).

Making pancakes

Abii makes the best pancakes this side of Northwich and was firmly in charge of the frying pan. Sam took a break from learning a bit of coding just long enough to scoff a few pancakes with chunks of chocolate melting deliciously inside them and Ferb and Buster got lucky with a few scraps (or unlucky in Buster’s case as it didn’t stay down for long!).

I gave instructions for two perfect, golden brown pancakes to be saved for me to photograph in the studio, where I’d set up a little tableau. The pancakes were as delicious as they looked, although they were cold by the time I got round to eating them!
